My 3 Weeks Here

Touching down on the sun-bleached island of Mykonos, I was whisked by private Mercedes transfer to the Santa Marina Resort & Villas on Ornos Bay. Stepping onto my private terrace with its teak loungers and infinity plunge pool overlooking the turquoise Aegean Sea, the carefree spirit of the Greek islands took hold immediately.

My days on Mykonos were a study in barefoot hedonism and Cycladic beauty. Mornings began with a wander through the maze of Mykonos Town (Chora) before the crowds awoke. The labyrinthine whitewashed alleys with vibrant fuchsia bougainvillea, turquoise wooden shutters, and cobblestone paths painted with white grout lines were designed to confuse invading pirates in centuries past. We walked past the iconic 16th-century windmills down to Little Venice, where 18th-century fishing houses hang directly over the crashing waves.

By midday, the action moved to the island's legendary beach clubs. We secured front-row sunbeds (€200) at Scorpios on Paraga Beach, where bohemian luxury meets holistic wellness. Sitting under weathered timber pergolas, we grazed on grilled Aegean octopus, wood-fired feta with honey and sesame, and chilled magnums of Whispering Angel rosé (€160). As the afternoon rolled into the golden hour, deep organic house music picked up and the beach transformed into an open-air celebration under the sunset.

For dinner, we secured a candlelit table at Interni, set inside a chic open-air courtyard in the heart of Chora. The Chilean sea bass with miso glaze and Greek salad tartare was exquisite. We finished the night sipping signature cocktails at Queen of Mykonos, watching the international jet set mingle until the early hours of morning. Mykonos is vibrant, chic, and endlessly seductive.
